I know this has been asked before. I purchased a new tv after Christmas. I was told at the store if I signed up for the best buy card I would get 10 percent off just like everyone else on here. In fact he said it would pay for my extended warranty cost. So I got the extended warranty and expected my 10 percent off on my first bill. Tell me why I didnt get it. It looks like this tactic has been going on for several years now looking at the post. It should have been stoppped by educating your floor sales people by now.

Welcome and congratulations on your new Best Buy Credit Card! It's exciting to hear that you used your purchase for a TV shortly after Christmas, and opted for the Geek Squad Protection (GSP) Plan. I'm sure you've been enjoying it the last month or so!
With that said, the 10% back is actually 10% back in rewards provided standard financing is chosen. These rewards are points awarded through our My Best Buy program that may be converted into reward certificates, which are coupons that may be used on future purchases. For more details, please feel welcome to view our My Best Buy Terms and Credit Cards page.
I apologize for any misinformation or confusion you may have encountered, but I can assure you this would not be a tactic we utilize. Our members and cardholders may occasionally receive 10% off a single item coupon but this would not be a part of the sign up offer.
If you're having trouble accessing your My Best Buy membership to view these rewards, please let me know and I'll be delighted to review this further with you.
