I DID see other posts on the subject, but feel like I need to ask nonetheless. To be sure of course.
I registered for my new card today and purchased an item with it immediately after.
Upon checking out I'm shown a figure that's 5% of the total of my order.
'am I to presume that it will actually be 10% in the end?

As long as you selected standard financing (not a 6 or 12-month payment option) then the extra points should appear in your account within 20 days (or 35 days if it was a Magnolia purchase).
I am a former Best Buy employee. While here to help, the opinions presented by me on this site do not represent the views or decisions of Best Buy and its affiliates. Authorized company representatives identified with -BBY after their names are able to address specific concerns or inquiries in greater detail.

Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to the Best Buy Forums! I can definitely understand wanting to know when your points will show up, just to be sure. I do the same thing!
Thank you Sam15 for providing that helpful link! From that FAQ:
Q: How long does it take for points to post to my account?
A: It can generally take up to 20 days for points from an eligible Best Buy purchase (35 days for Magnolia) to post to a member’s account. Those time frames would start after a purchase has been picked up or delivered.
Please let us know if you still have questions, and feel free to reach back out if you don't see those points post correctly for some reason. We're always happy to help!

Thanks all for the replies.
Yeah, I'm merely more concerned with the 10% than over how long it'd take. 20 days? That's cool. Just as long as it comes out to 10% in the end.
Thanks again and enjoy your week ahead. :-)

You can earn 5% back in points on everyday purchases when using your My Best Buy credit card with standard financing, which is likely the 5% you saw during checkout. If you used a new My Best Buy credit card right after being approved and selected standard financing, then your purchase should qualify for 10% back in points; however, the bonus 5% back won't likely be displayed during checkout, and in-fact, those bonus points may not even be displayed as pending in your rewards account. As Meg and Sam15 mentioned though, the full 10% back should post to your rewards account within 20 days.
If after a full 20 days it doesn't appear the bonus 5% back has been awarded, then don't hesitate to send us a private message by clicking here, and we'll take a closer look at your rewards account to see what we can do to help. Just make sure to include your name, phone number, and email address. Let us know if you have any other questions.
