so when I purchased my iPhone 11 Pro Max, I also bought AppleCare+ that same day (this payment was being taken off of my card each month). My iPhone now has a cracked screen, so I called the BestBuy where I purchased my phone to make an appointment to have it repaired. I was informed that my AppleCare had only been charged for 2 months & it had expired due to “non-payment” and I was no longer able to get it back due to it expiring. I then explained that I never authorized for AppleCare to be cancelled, and I was still under the impression I had it. I asked why it all of a sudden stopped charging my account, to which they replied that the charge to my card was not accepted.. which I’m not sure why it would be taken off without issue for those 2 months, but then it be stopped. Plus, I never received any notification that my insurance was cancelling, or I hadn’t paid it, nor was even offered a chance to fix this issue from happening. Now I’m looking at having to pay $200 or more to fix my screen.

Welcome to our forums. While I’ve been fortunate with my current phone, the last phone I owned had a cracked screen for a majority of its life, so I know how frustrating it can be to deal with such an issue on a daily basis, and I can’t say I blame you for wanting to get the screen fixed.
In regards to your AppleCare+ plan, or any sort of monthly subscription service purchased with us, please know that if we are unable to collect payment for your plan, the plan will be automatically cancelled. This is outlined in the terms and conditions of the AppleCare+ plan, which you’ll find here. I’ll also include the relevant verbiage from these terms below:
2. Plan Term and Renewal
If your Payment Source cannot be charged for any reason, and you have not otherwise made the appropriate renewal or monthly payment on time, your Plan coverage will cease from the due date.
Additionally, once cancelled, your AppleCare+ plan will be unable to be reinstated, and we will be unable to offer any of the benefits that would have been included in this plan. I realize this may not have been the answer you were hoping for, and I regret any further disappointment this news may bring.
