iPad Gen 7 price match with Walmart

Purchased an iPad 7 wifi 32g in silver on bestbuy.com for store pickup about 2 weeks ago at price of $299.
Walmart now has the same model number on sale for $279 in gold and space grey.

While I realized BB policy re price match for same model AND COLOR, I waited for online chat for quite a while to ask if my request could be processed. After half an hour or so I decided to phone BB at their 800 number to request a credit for the $20 price difference. Wait time getting to first rep wasn’t bad - under 5 min. This rep stated the need for color to be the same.

After I informed her of my option to return the iPad to BestBuy and buy the one at WM, she suggested I speak directly with the department re price matching. I agreed. She transferred the call.

I then receive a recording stating my wait time for the price match dept would be one hour and five minutes. Yikes!

Rather than having to do the return and repurchase, I would like to respectfully request an exception to policy regarding the color based on (1) good customer service (2) cost BB will incur for dealing with the return and reselling of a used iPad and (3) common sense.

Is there a way to speak with someone regarding my request without having to hold for over an hour?

Please note, while my preferred color would be the gold, it’s irrelevant to me as my iPad case covers the color (hence why I didn’t mind purchasing the silver).

If you’re looking for the fastest way to get an answer, 1-888-BestBuy is likely to be a better avenue. The moderators appreciate your patience while they help the others that are ahead of you.

With that said, in my experience there aren’t exceptions granted to the color variations. Oftentimes, when one color is on sale and not others the retailer is trying to move something they bought too many of. While we can match same product model/upc, matching to a different color defeats that purpose.

When processing a price match, we do need to ensure that the products are exactly the same. This includes the color of the product. Additionally, we are only able to price match other retailers at the time of purchase so we would be unable to accomodate this request.
