covid strikes again with causing havoc

I love the laptop I bought, HP Stream. But it was a pain to even get it set up correctly for use, weeks maybe even a couple months after purchase. I order it so I could work from home when all the quarantine stuff started. It was an open box item so the price was a steal. The only had one issue but it was a huge one. The item must have been a returned for the same thing. This laptop came off the line without the proper software. No way to get online at all, the wifi capability was never installed on it. I contacted Bestbuy online, only to be told it was something to be taken up with HP. Then after 2 hours of running test and tryin to fix it remotely with HP. I was told that this was too new of a purchased and was re directed back to Best buy. Well with everything shut down and a bit crazy, mail was backed up and contacting employees for help was so much longer. I was just so fusterated and over the it so the laptop sat until a good friend of mine who is great with computers, was able to figure it out a pay for software so he could install. I know things happen and im chalking it up to my crazy amount of bad luck. I still think you guys should know because this item was returned (only guessing but most likely same issue) checked by geek sqaud and re put out for sale. Things happen and with luck like mine, it happens alot. I love best buy's sales and customer service normally, so im of course still a continuing customer.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our community forums. I can certainly understand how important it is to have a working computer right now and I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Can you please clarify what software was missing from this computer? Did you contact Best Buy after getting in touch with HP so we could continue looking into options to assist you?
