any restocking fee for prepaid phones?

I was wondering if there is a $35 restocking fee for prepaid phones like simple mobile, tracfone, etc?  The return policy has listed a restocking fee of "$35 for Verizon and unlocked phones, $45 for AT&T and Sprint" but does not mention if there is one for these prepaid phones.

Re: any restocking fee for prepaid phones?

They are not carrier specific so I would assume you are safe on that one. It is only for the major carriers.

Products like Tracfone, Simple Mobile and Total Wireless can be returned without fee.

If you did a number transfer, be sure to go back to your old phone prior to returning so you don't lose any remaning airtime.

Re: any restocking fee for prepaid phones?

Hello, unibrow,

Thanks for joining us at the Best Buy Community forums. That’s a great question.

We want to be transparent about restocking fees under our Return & Exchange Promise. If you’re shopping in a store, you’ll get a prompt on the PIN pad letting you know there will be a restocking fee.

Online, just go to the checkout page. Down at the bottom, it’ll say “HEADS UP!” if one of the items in your cart is subject to a restocking fee. It’ll have a link to the breakdown of what items have it, and at which amount. Some prepaid phones may qualify as unlocked, so be sure to check there to be sure before making your purchase.
