Warning!!! Best Buy do NOT always honor Price Match after they agree to it!!!!

The day before Christmas, I noticed Arcade1Up had a deal one of their arcade cabinets, I contacted Best Buy's customer service via chat to see if they would price match the manufacturer's lower price. They agreed and said this would qualify for a price match, I had the option to use my CC for the reduce price (should have used that payment method) or PayPal, I chose PayPal so they said I had to pay the full price but they said not to worry, I would get an email from them with the price difference and it would credit back to my PayPal account. Awesome! A week past, I contacted customer service via chat, they said it's being process, wait an additional 48 hours. I waited a couple of days, contacted customer service again, they said, give it another 48 hours. So I waited. At this point, I was a little worried because my return window was closing in, I had about a week left so this time I called customer service via phone. She told me my price match was denied!!! No explaination as to why but recommended I return it to Best Buy and buy it from Arcade1up, I was very annoy at this point with the lack of communication because if I didn't call, I wouldn't have known about it being denied, but not only that, the Arcade1Up store price went up and the deal was no longer available. Not to mention, this item heavy (about 100 lbs) and will be a major pain to take apart and put back in the box. It took me 4 hours to set it up.

 

Is this even legal? They promised me a price, and didn't honor it, I feel like I was tricked into purchasing the item with the promise that I'll get it at that lower price, now I have to figure out how to take it all apart and some how return this giant heavy box, as if they were hoping I just keep it, nope!! Very frustrating experience!!!!

 

Also, I asked if I could speak to a supervisor, she told me I should expect a phone call within an hour, so far no phone call! Never again!!

I was told to wait an hour for the supervisor to call, literally have my phone next to me waiting, its now almost 2 hours and nothing. Can someone on this forum help? My initial reference ID is 302827169. Thanks!

Just wanted to update, haven't heard from customer service (or that call from the supervisor) but it was handle properly and I got my credit for the price match, sucks that I had to spend so much time trying to get it all sorted out but at the end, they did resolve it.
