Unable to Register Warranty

I am trying to register my warranty for a laptop that I purchased for my daugher. I am entering the information that is on my receipt. I get an error message.

Best Buy doesn't require registration of warranties. If you're doing it through the manufacturer, I've never had them request receipt information as it is normally something that just goes through when you initially start of the computer and go through the entire set up and updates for the first time.

What site are you trying to register the warranty on?
I am not a forum moderator nor voice of corporate. One of the corporate moderators will be with you as soon as they can for the official response from Best Buy. The forums work on a first come, first serve basis and it can take a while for a response.

Welcome to our forum, and congratulations on the purchase of your new laptop! It's always a great idea to protect your purchases with a warranty of some kind, which is why we are proud to offer Geek Squad Protection (GSP) plans on a wide array of products at Best Buy. Like @geishafish, as far as I'm aware, any registration of a GSP plan would be done automatically either at the register in-store, or during checkout on BestBuy.com. I'd like to reiterate geishafish's question above: what kind of warranty are you trying to register, and with whom?
