Today I received in the mail a letter from Caine & Weiner stating that I owe almost $800 to Best Buy for an item I never received in the mail. I’ve been going back and forth with Best Buy since October 2018 until January 2019 and I thought that was the end until I got this in the mail today.
I ordered a laptop on 9/28/18 and got frequent email updates on when it was shipped and delivered. I was home on the day of delivery and never got a package. I waited another day and still nothing. This lead me to contact Best Buy on 10/3/18 about the missing package and they granted me a full refund.
6 days later, there’s another charge for the same amount on my card. Again I contacted Best Buy about this and the exact words from the rep was “Not to worry the extra charge will be refunded in order to speed up the process I request you to contact your bank.”
The charge was never dropped and I had to chargeback with my bank. From October 2018 to January 2019, I’ve been going back and forth with Best Buy and my credit card company. I would call and chat with both of them almost once a week regarding this charge and dispute.
One rep told me the exact words - “I see. I really apologize but upon checking here, on our end, the refund was already applied on your order so you should already be refunded for this purchase. Since we already provided you the refund, you will need to dispute this again to your bank because we already provided the refund on our end.”
I still have the refund confirmation emails and almost every single chat transcript saved and I don’t know any other way to resolve this.
The reason I’m writing this here is because I googled “Caine & Weiner Best Buy” and a lot of people seem to post their issue here and received help.
Please can someone help me resolve this in anyway. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the Best Buy Community forums. I understand how much of a shock receiving that collections letter must have been, and I’d be happy to look into this to see if there’s anything I can do to assist here.
