This is why Best Buy will go under

[ Edited ]

In October I purchased a $50 universal remote control.  Then I moved and recently found the box and the remote.  The remote was no good and did not do the job I needed. I was past the return time for Best Buy, but I have been an elite member for years buying my iPads (4) and my iPhones (4) and all my electronics there and I wanted to buy a Nintendo Switch, a few games and extra controllers so I figured i could get a store credit and be on my way.

The Best Buy Manager at Sacramento Laguna refused me any return.

I explained i wanted store credit so i could spend $500.00.

He refused.

I explained I buy all my electronics from Best Buy and would take my shopping elsewhere.

He again refused.

SO I went to Target and spent $476.00 and when I want to upgrade my apple products and buy cases and scratch resistant plastic, I will make an appointment at the Apple Bar.

This is why Best Buy will go under.

Re: This is why Best Buy will go under

why would remove the receipt from Target but not make any comment about your store policies?

One of John-BBY’s many tasks is to remove items which violate the board’s rules. Any sort of receipt information or external links would need to be removed for braking the rules. Hey m3lod1us,

Welcome to the forums and thanks for the post, though I wish it was filled with less disappointment. It’s never ideal when you purchase something and later find out it’s not quite what you need. I’ve been in those shoes.

That said, once an item falls outside of the period outlined in our Returns Promise, we would not be able to accept it as a return and this is not a type of policy that that typically varies based on future purchase intents. You have my sincere apologies inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Re: This is why Best Buy will go under

Dear Luke,

I posted this in the forums to show why Best Buy will go under.  Your statement understanding my annoyance and frustration was very kind, however your company's inability to meet the needs of a loyal customer and it's lack of real concern for the alienation of the customer is a sure sign that Best Buy will go under.

I went to Target and bought the Nintendo Switch and then I went to Game Stop and bought more games.  I wasn't harmed in the least, but I promise you I will never shop at Best Buy again.

Take care my friend and good luck to you in your future.
