The Retail Equation

My sincerest hope is that enough people will complain about Best Buy's use of the loathsome service, The Retail Equation, that Best Buy will come to its senses, apologize and stop using them. I was last week forced to sign a notice that future returns may not be accepted from me, after returning a $39 dollar AppleWatch screen cover that was the wrong size. I contacted The Retail Equation and was sent a copy of my return history - two returns in 2018, then in early January I returned an Apple HomePod and exchanged it for an Echo Dot and several other items, incuding the AppleWatch accessory, which I returned the next day because it was the wrong size, and the correct size was not in stock. I was then ordered over to a different counter to sign a notice that I had made too many returns and was probably a fraudster. My plan was to purchase a TV at Best Buy that day for my son, but after that I went next door and purchased the TV at Costco. Later research showed that Best Buy relies on The Retail Equation to determine whether a return is fraudulent, and if the customer has questions, they are referred directly to The Retail Equation "customer service", not Best Buy's. After getting my return history from The Retail Equation, along with a general run-around, I called Best Buy customer service, who listened to my complaint, then gave me a special number to call. It was the number for The Retail Equation! So, I am done. My records show I typically spend $700-1000 a year at Best Buy, but no more. Good luck!
