Text message - scam?

I just recieved a text msg that read: ''Dear shopper, as a BestBuy member you get our lovely Xmas surprise! Unbox: s8g.site/35551/zzZI0u Text Stop to unsub"

 

Is this a scam?

 

If so, I'm concerned as I did just make an order yesterday.

I also got a text saying the same thing... I also just made a purchase a few days ago to. I’m pretty sure this is fraud.

Welcome to our community! Thanks for taking the time to reach out about the text message you received. Caution is always a good move when you receive messages unexpectedly, especially when there are links without specified destinations involved.

 

Best Buy’s customers can subscribe for marketing, but it’s my understanding marketing message are sent via mail or (more often) email. What you describe doesn’t align with any messages we are aware of that could have come from Best Buy’s marketing teams. With that in mind, please do NOT click on any link or further interact with this message, as it could be from malicious individuals.

 

As Best Buy is such a large retailer, it isn’t unheard of for scammers to send out messages, emails, or calls to many people pretending to be Best Buy representatives, making the assumption that at least some of the people they contact may be Best Buy shoppers. If you believe you have received a text message scam, report fraudulent texts to your mobile provider. BestBuy package 5543-FP for Robert is waiting for your info to be completed. Answer CONFIRM to continue.
