Tax Exempt Fiasco - May need to end business relationship

Every couple of months Best Buy keeps invalidating my resale registration... today it happened again... I was at the store today, and trying to make a purchase and the Best Buy tax exempt card didn’t work...was told I had to reregister, tried at the store on one of their terminals, and the web site failed...so I called the Best Buy customer service number today while at the store and they said they couldn’t help me....sighhhh.... So I spoke with the nice manager at the store and he couldn’t help me either...so I left without making the purchases..... I am a sole proprietor and yes my email and phone for business and personal are the same...today I was trying to buy a 2TB ssd drive and two surface covers...with the intent to purchase 5 Apple laptops next week for a church...but I guess I’ll have to go else where....just tried at hone and the web registration still fails....ugggh....

Re: Tax Exempt Fiasco - May need to end business relationship

Hi, RgVisions,

Thanks for taking the time to create a profile and reach out. On behalf of the entire community, we would like to welcome you to the Best Buy Forums!

Having a tax exempt status is a great way to save for your business when possible, so I can certainly understand you seeking some support here. First, we would recommend that you register for the new Tax Exempt Customer Program at Tax Exempt Customer Registration. If you are having issues doing so, please give us a call at (888) BEST-BUY or (888) 237-8289.

Additionally, you can email TaxExemptCustomer@BestBuy.com so this can be further investigated.

Regards,

Re: Tax Exempt Fiasco - May need to end business relationship

So already called on Saturday...and the lady couldn’t do anything...so I asked for a manager to call back and didn’t hear anything. Spoke with the store manager as well to advise him what was going on and showed him how the web site kept erroring out...so I left. Waited and picked my items at another store in MN who marched Best Buy’s price and tax exempt...the other items I picked up at Amazon...just sent email requesting either a phone call or a sit down meeting for next Thursday at 1 pm at corporate offices...

Hi, RgVisions,

I'm sorry that we weren't able to help out over the phone or in store. I'm hopeful that we can get this all worked out through that email for you.

Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you out with.

Sincerely,
