I hope this helps you find the person because this actually scared me at first. I can't afford to have $400 taken out all at once. Can you imagine an retired person living on a fixed income. This would make them call that number. Please do not brush this under the rug do something about it.

Re: Scam Email

Hi, nybina1981,

Thanks for creating a profile here on the Best Buy Forums. Welcome to this great community! I can certainly understand you looking to bring this to our attention, as I would be doing the same if I received a fraudulent email. You are correct that this is appears to be a scam email from someone who is not affiliated with Best Buy in any way.

Thank you for making us aware of this email here within the Corporate Campus. We would recommend using caution going forward, and blocking that sender within your email account.

Regards,

Geek Squad renewal Scam Emails (MANY!)

I have recieved DOZENS of these bogus emails telling me my account is being charged (various huge amounts of $$!) because my subscription is up.  There is no link (too suspicious), only a phone number.

I was grateful to the other forum member who actually called and then was exposed to the malicious string of efforts to exact info from the "rep" who immediately called him/her back.

I will NEVER renew my subscription cuz of the headaches it causes. It is worth my sanity to just pay as needed, not subscribe to the "service."
