Reporting a Geekmobile appliance delivery driver EXTREME speeding

Today in our Franklin TN neighboorhood the driver of truck 43956 at 9:55 AM was speeding so recklessly that families were screaming at their kids to get out of the way, and I went down to advise the team that the speed limit is 15mph not 45mph.  The first team memeber encounted said "where are the kids, I don't see kids" and then said "well I wasn't driving".  We have kids everywhere and this team put all of us at risk.  It was the most flagrent disregards for human life I have ever witnessed, met by a confrontational and lying employee of best buy.  They need to be fired.

While I wish you were connecting with us under happier circumstances, I'm glad that you took the time to bring this to our attention. Our goal is always to do what we can to have safety be the first priority, so it hurts me to learn that wasn't the case with this interaction.

 

I know how I would feel if I witnessed something like that in my neighborhood, so I can understand why this would leave you feeling concerned. While I wish that the driver had been more mindful of the children playing and speed limit in the first place, I'm glad you let us know so that we can make the right teams aware and review this further.

I have sent the requested information to you via private message.  I also have photos of the truck and driver, and license plate.  I also have video doorbell footage and other witneesses that estimate speed of 40-45 MPH going downhill (in a large box truck) and our posted speed is 15 MPH.  The most wreckless thing I have ever watched in my life.  If BestBuy has GPS on their trucks this would be helpful as we have an open complaint with the Williamson County Sherrifs Deptment.

I should also mention that I have photos of the truck with other famailies children playing in the street after the young arrogant delivery person said "I don't see kids, where are the kids".   Does BestBuy think we are buying applicances for our 4-6 bedrooms houses and don't have any kids?!

 

Yall need GPS on your delivery trucks, and need safety training for the young delivery drivers.  They werent much younger then me, maybe 23-25 years old? 

 

I would like to see a resoultion to this issue.

License plate is {removed per forum guidelines}.  I also have photos of the driver and vehicle.  I have PM'ed both of you.

I have sent the pictures to Josh, and he verified that the speed was 2X the legal limit in our community.  I would be arrested for this, if police where here to witness.  Where is it OK anywhere to drive twice the legal limit, and then scream at neighbors that witnessed the incident and put lives at risk.

 

I would like to know the employment status of the people on this truck now that Best Buy has documented their speed, their truck, and their faces?

As Bill-BBY mentioned above, the investigation would remain confidential within Best Buy and you won't be notified of any outcomes of the investigation.  Employees, whether current or former, have a number of rights under various Employee Privacy Laws which would prohibit disclosing any of that information.  Know that based on the information provided and the fact that they have identified the party that Best Buy will take action.  I am also approved to drive a company vehicle for Best Buy, during the training process they are abundantly clear about how serious they are about following traffic laws and how serious the consequences will be.  I'll just say, I would not want to be in his shoes as a driver.

I am a Best Buy Employee, but the views that I post are my own and not that of Best Buy.

I'm not sure why you are messaging me with your personal, legal, and professional opinions.  

 

The Best Buy employees have never been named publicly.  Their status of employment is a valid safty concern as a normal concerned citizen (200% the speed limit! Verified by Best Buy GPS - just imagine someone doing that in front of your house).  Just use common sense before replying.  

 

I'm also extremly concerned now about your reply as you are a delivery driver for the same company in question giving legal advice to me.  Quoting "various employee privacy laws" is abusrud and antagonizing.  Your own team members could have killed children, and I was a witness.  It happens hundreds of times per year here, and I never though twice about it until I saw this happen in my own community.

 

If BestBuy training is abudently clear for yourself and fellow drivers, and how severe  you belive the potential  consquences can be inside of Best Buy for the team members- why are we documenting TWICE the limited in a small residential community.  I'm offened by your argonate  tone, and it does nothing to ease my safty concerns,  and only makes me want to stay away from Best Buy as a company.

 

When you say this is a confidential Best Buy investigation, and the employees have rights - well so does the public.  I'm allowed to ask if someone going 200% the speed limit is still employed as a delivery driver by the company.  If you have other legal opinions, please let me know.
