Re: Gift Card Fraud

So on Sunday May 10,2019 I called Best Buy and reported my gift card missing . The agent I spoke with said that it wasn’t a problem and that my $215.49 would be placed on a new gift card and mailed to me with 7-10 days . I called back a week later and asked when I should be expecting and was told 7-10 business days from my initial call.(which is understandable ). So today i called and was told that the gift card was not only mailed to the wrong address (the unit number entered doesn’t even exist in my neighborhood🙄)and that my gift card was used on 05-14-2019. 🤔 Now Best Buy wants me to contact my local law enforcement to file a report but they will not refund me my money or reissue a new gift card. The agent then called a supervisor who told me the same thing and that the gift card couldn’t be tracked through their system . So tell me how will the police track who stole it 🤔🤔

To me it sounds like Best Buy issued and used the gift card.

I may have been born at night but not last night

Re: Gift Card Fraud

Hello, dqueen1027,

Welcome to our Best Buy Support Forums! Losing such a large gift card is never ideal, but it sounds like you did exactly what was needed to try to get this replaced.

I'd like to take a closer look into what happened here to see if we might have any options at this time to assist with this. Can you please send me a private message with your name, phone number, email address, and the mailing address the card should have been sent to? To send the message, you can use the blue Private Message button in my signature below.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Sincerely,
