It’s a HARD pull. I’ve call had card with them for about three years, always paid on time, never really asked for an increase.

And now they did a hard pull on my credit when I requested an increase through my online account. So frustrating! Especially, when they never disclosed it. It’s the only credit card that did a hard pull on my credit score so far and I have 9!!!

After I’m done paying off my fridge, I’m not planning on using this card again. It’s unreliable, online experience is terrible, virtually no rewards and they do a hard pull for credit limit increase. What a joke.

Getting approved for a higher credit limit should be an exciting time, so it hurts me to learn that the experience didn't go as planned. As someone who likes to keep an eye on my credit score, I can certainly understand why you'd be disappointed that requesting a credit limit increase ended up being a hard check rather than the soft check you were hoping for.

 

While I can understand your disappointment, this concern would be best shared with our Best Buy Credit Card support through Citibank at (888) 574-1301. I recommend giving them a call to discuss this further and give them the chance to try and improve your experience with your My Best Buy Credit Card.

They do a hard inquiry at CitiBank.I just got off the phone with them. You need to call them at 1-888-574-1301. Don't bother with the CitiBank / Best Buy chat. It's just a bunch of copy and paste human robots.
