Re: Apple Music Free 4 Months

That's not it, at least not for me.  I never signed up for Apple Music before, no free trial or anything.  Best Buy's code activates iTunes and *one* month of Apple Music free.  I assumed if I clicked OK, I'd only get that one month, not the 3 months that Apple itself offers.  So I signed up with Apple first, got my 3 months, then tried to use the code.  It wasn't valid, since I was no longer a "new" subscriber -- even though I subscribed 2 minutes before.

This is very frustrating.  The code claims to be a 4 month offer, but when using it, it says one month.  Since Apple itself offers 3 months, I thought the code would add a month to that, equalling four.  To add insult to injury, I've tried for 2 days to reach Best Buy customer support, neither your live chat nor phone support is available.  Not worth more of my time for a discount worth about $10, but I wanted to let others know they're not alone.

Re: Apple Music Free 4 Months

Hello, AikiBiker,

Welcome to our community forums. As an Apple Music subscriber myself, I know I'd want to get a free trial for as long as possible. As you mentioned, this four month trial code is only for members who have not previously an Apple Music member. It sounds like this code was redeemed after making your account which would not allow the four month trial to be valid.

I would recommend working with Apple Support to see what options may be available to assist you with this trial. Please don't hesitate to let me know if I can assist you with any other questions.

Re: Apple Music Free 4 Months

"{removed per forum guidelines}" replied to my trouble ticket:

"To help you with the promo code you're unable to redeem, I would suggest to contact Best Buy."

So neither Best Buy nor Apple will take responsibility. Personally, I think's it's the responsibility of Best Buy to clarify how their promo can be used. It's advertised as "4 months free", declares itself "1 month free" upon redemption, and offers no guidance as to whether to use it before, during, or after signing up for Apple Music with Apple. A quick search of your user forums shows several others with the same complaint.
