Promotional E-Gift Card not working

I received a $10 e-gift card in my email for purchasing a PS4 game, but it doesn’t work. Even if I try to check the balance it states “We're currently having trouble checking the balance of your gift card. Please try again in a few minutes.
You can also check your gift card balance at your local Best Buy retail store or by calling our support team
at 1-888-716-7994.“. This has been the same message since I got the e-mail on 3/31/20. What other info is needed to check on this.

Didn’t help. Still getting the same message. The link tells you to click a box in that post next to a signature. I don’t see either. At this point, it’s too much hassle to bother.
