Product Failures

hello everyone, maybe you also have experienced this. i am attempting now to  contact corporate best buy so they will know this is a deliberate product failure.  i bought a refurbished dell optiplex 330 computer online from best buy in 2016 but never used it.  it was in the box when i took it out recently because my other pc had crashed.  the replacement had no drivers for the modem at all installed, it didnt' even see the modem.  with this and other problems, the manufacturer, Joy Systems, REFUSED to give any technical support because it was out of warranty.  i have since filed a charge with the BBB but so far nothing.  I took the pc to Geek Squad because an agent i talked with said they would install the drivers for me at no cost.  WRONG !  They said anything i needed would be $40 each service, like that would more than the cost of the computer itself.  I wrote to the district manager in Georgia and the store manager, so far nothing.  it's fraud to me to sell something that doesn't function at the time you buy it and for the money you pay, it should work.

Thank you for reaching out to us here at the Best Buy Community forums. Having a computer not work is always frustrating.


Most of our open-box items come with a standard 15-day return period under our Return & Exchange Promise. For a computer bought in 2016, even our extended 30- and 54-day return periods for My Best Buy Elite and Elite Plus members would be expired.
