Price drop on laptop purchased with a student discount: Best Buy is unable to Price Match

Here's the situation:

A laptop was purchased with a student discount. Then, it went on sale the following week.  At the sale price, the same student discount is also available. 


Here are the specifics:

Original purchase:

$1549 - $150 (student discount) = $1399


1 week later, with the sale price:

$1399 - $150 (student discount) = $1249


The resolution would be for BestBuy to price match the new sales price and honor the student discount.  (Essentially, price match $150)


The problem is:

I've been told that the systems do not allow price adjustment because of the student discount.  One might think that I should return the original purchase and rebuy; but, the student discount is only available once and I've already used the student discount on the original purchase.


I've contacted 2 stores in person and over the phone and I've contacted - all respond similarly. 

Is there anything that can be done regarding getting a price match on this?


I believe this issue needs to be escalated for fair price adjustments to those using student discounts.  How do we send feedback those in charge of price adjustments?

Thank you for taking the time to join our community forums and writing to us about this price adjustment. I would be happy to give you some more details about our Price Match Guarantee as well as our Student Deals. While we are typically able to process a price adjustment in we lower our price while within our Return & Exchange Promise there are some special considerations when using our student deals. These markdowns can only be used on the regular or "was" price for an item. This means even if something were to go on sale the student deal would not apply to the sale price. In addition, our Price Match Guarantee does not apply to pricing that is only available to select groups of customers. 


Based on the information you've provided it doesn't sound like we would be able to process a price adjustment. I would be glad to take a deeper look to make sure we examined all of our options. Can you please send me a private message with your:
