I purchased a Nitro 5 gaming laptop for 1299 to replace my previous laptop that I bought from best buy in 2017. I have been going to best buy to purchase my electronics since then, my apple watch and airpods all coming from the location in here Warwick RI. As I purchased the laptop during the holiday season it's no surprise that a few days later it went on sale. I am college student so replacing my laptop was a necessasity and leasing it was the best option finacially. Before picking up the laptop I reached out to the support center and was told that I would be able to recieve a refund of the 400$ to the orginal payment as the laptop had went on sale for 899. There was no mention of leasing the the laptop meant that I could not be price matched. Now I called multiple times during decemember and also used the chat service and was told my refund was being processed.
Last week Either thursday or Friday I spoke with a representive who escalated my case and was told it would be resolved in 48 hours and I would recieve the refund to the orginal payment method. I called today and was told that I needed to speak with Progressive leasing to allow the refund before it could be processed and was given the number. Once Contacting them they told me to call back Best buy and they would be able to refund the 400$ and they would up date my leasing agreement as Price matching was completelty okay with them.
It was then that I was told that my request both the escalted one from last week and the one from early decemember had been denied due to the laptop being leased. Had that information been relayed to me from the begining I would've cancelled the order and leased it under the discounted price which was still an option during that time. However after a month of being given the run around and being told that the refund is being processed, I've missed the returned period.
I would like to know if there is anyway that this could be recitified as this has been a long process going on for over a month now.
