Price Match Policy Period

Hi there,

 

Could someone please review my case ? I believe Best Buy should honor this Price Match case but both online and in store Best Buy employees are saying otherwise.

 

Facts :

a. My Bose NC 700 was delivered on Fri, July 5, 2019.

b. Return period ended Jul 20, 2019.

c. Best buy offeres me 50 off of the orignal price of the headphone. The offer is valid Jun. 27 - Sep. 1, 2019 (still valid as of now ).

d. "If we lower our in-store or online price during the return and exchange period, we will match our lower price, upon request." And this is from Best Buy policy.

 

Since the offer of 50$ off is valid from Jun. 27 which is within the 'Return Period'. And the offer of 50$ off is still valid now.

Best buy should honor the Price Match Policy but both online and in store Best Buy employees failed to show me why they can't honor this Price Match.

I'm only told that I have to request the price match during the 'Return Period'. But this requirement is written no where in their offical policy.

 

Both of online and in-store employees are very friendly, but they failed to show me where the

" I have to request the price match during the 'Return Period" is written in their offical website.

 

The offical policy only requires the price to be lowered during the 'Return Period' and said nothing about ' Customer can't request for refund after the 'Return Period' '.

Thanks for registering with the Best Buy forums to let us know about your Price Match Guarantee question!  I'd be happy to help out as much as possible to explain what you're after, I believe.

At the time of sale, we price match all local retail competitors (including their online prices) and we price match products shipped from and sold by these major online retailers: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, HP.com, Newegg.com, and TigerDirect.com. 

If we lower our in-store or online price during the return and exchange period, we will match our lower price, upon request.

Basically, if you're trying to get a price match, it would have to be during the return and exchange period because they would have to perform a return and exchange because it would need to be at the time of sale.  With all that said, you should have qualified for this promotion at the time of your initial sale, looking at the date of your promotion time frames. 

Sit tight for a moderator to take a closer look at your purchase receipt to better understand why this didn't qualify at the time of sale.

Thanks for your reply.

I forgot to mention that I was requesting the Price Match on 27-JUL-2019.(out of Return and exchange period)

I"m really trying to see what I'm missing. ( Could it be Best Buy is not doing what is stated from website ? I highly doubt this. I must be missing something here ).

 

Even though 27-JUL-2019 (request date) is out of 'Return and exchange' period. But since the price is lowered during 'Return and exchange' period. The request should be fufilled. Based on the Price Match Policy here  from Best Buy webiste "If we lower our in-store or online price during the return and exchange period, we will match our lower price, upon request."

It has to happen/be requested at the time of sale for the price match to take place.  where are you seeing this promotion so that I can take a look at the fine print off the exclusion and promotional dates.  Basically you have until your return and exchange promise expires to request the match, but if you do not we would be unable to assist you with the match since we cannot provide a return and exchange outside of your promise. 

TL;DR, an exchange would need to take place and re-rung for the new promotional price, so a return and exchange would have to occur, which is why it would need to be within the return and exchange promise.  With apologies, your request would not be accepted because you're outside your return and exchange promise.

Our Price Match Guarantee is a great benefit to shopping with us. It enables our customers to save even more, whether a competitor has it cheaper or we drop our price, as long as the purchase falls within the guidelines. If I'm understanding your initial post correctly, your purchase had a Return & Exchange Promise period that expired on July 20 but the promotion started on June 27 and runs until September 1. With that in mind, I see you purchased this item within that sale time frame. Was the item already given the $50 off? Assuming that it doesn't have any limitations or exclusions of any kind the item should've been priced at the sale price as it was purchased after the offer started.

No. The item was not given $50 off.

—Assuming that it doesn't have any limitations or exclusions of any kind the item should've been priced at the sale price as it was purchased after the offer started.

How can I proceed to get the price matched?
I tried both online and in store and they online agent told me he can’t verify my $50 off. And in store manager told me I’m out of return period so no price match.
