Nobody cares about Best Buy Steelbook Questions_040219
Bumblebee SteelBook Includes Digital Copy 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray/Blu-ray [Only @ Best Buy]
SKU:6323397 Release Date:04/02/2019; Same issue that happened with Halloween [SteelBook] SKU:6314996
I wasted my gas money and time driving around to all 3 Best Buys in my area to find out that nobody at Best Buy cares. I am actually surprised about all the excuses and poor customer service at Best Buy. I used to get outstanding customer service at Best Buy. Tonight, when I explaining my frustration about this issue to a Best Buy employee at 72nd and Highway 370 location, my conversation was rudely interrupted by another guy employee who actually requested the person I was talking that he needed to snag her away to help him with something. What a joke? He could see that she was already helping me. However, he acted as though he did not care and did not want her wasting anymore time talking to me. My main question is that I do not understand the point of all of these Steelbooks when Best Buy does not give everyone that wants a Steelbook the opportunity to buy one. The item was only released today and now I am being told it is sold out forever. From my personal perspective, Best Buy is pushing customers away to the competition. If Best Buy cannot deliver the products it advertises, then it is time to shop elsewhere. It appears that Best Buy may be heading down the same dark path of K-Mart. I understand that this is not the fault of any of the Best Buy employees. However, all I wanted to do was have a conversation about the issue and all I get in return is that nobody at Best Buy cares. As a consumer, I have a choice where to shop. I think I will be looking to buy my electronic needs elsewhere. However, from my personal experience, I miss the old Best Buy when the story was filled to the brim of Music CDs, PC Games, and rows and rows of Movies. I think this new Best Buy is taking the limited nature of the Steelbooks to the extreme. The Steelbooks cannot possibly be that valuable that they think it is necessary to alienate the loyal customers that allow Best Buy to currently exist. When Best Buy or any business starts to turn their back on their customers, then they deserve to fail. For me, it is hard for me to contineu seeing value of collecting Best Buy Steelbooks when I am not able to buy the ones I want. It does not make sense that an advertised item in their weekly item is sold out on the first day it is released. The response I was told multiple times is that there is nothing that can be done to buy Bumblee Steelbook since it is sold out. All I heard was that one has to pre-order months in advance to get a copy as that is the only way to buy a Limited Edition Steelbook. R.I.P. Best Buy. You used to be one of my absolute favorite electronic stores to shop. I will just have to look elsewhere to buy products that are actually avaiable to purchase.

Not accurate. I was not trying to state a fact that K-Mart became obsolete when they failed to listen to their customers and provide competitive good and services that people want to buy. Just like K-Mart, Best Buy employees shows zero interest in wanting to discuss the issue to fix the source of the problem. A customer has to has a reason to want to shop somewhere. I think the idea of the Steelbooks is a great idea but poorly executed. What is the point of having only a handful of Steelbooks that only a few people can buy and leaves other customers with no opportunity to buy them through the Best Buy stores in which they were officially advertised for sale. There are certain stores I shop at because they provide the products or services I seek for a price that I deem to be fair and competitive. When I was comparing the Best Buy Steelbook exclusive new movie releases vs. Target Exclusive New Movie releases, I preferred to buy the Steelbook version. However, this is the 2nd time when the Best Buy Steelbook edition is unavailable for sale. I was making a consumer selection to buy new movies at Best Buy because of the Steelbook version. However, when Best Buy or whoever made the decision to limit the amount of Steelbook copies available for sale, then I no longer choose to Buy new movies at Best Buy. I will either buy the Target Exclusive or buy the standard release somewhere else. This is why I think Best Buy will go down the road of K-Mart. Of course, K-Mart failures was not impacted by lack of customer support alone. However, without loyal customers to keep rebuying products and services, then a business will eventually cease to exist. I truly hope that Best Buy is able to stay in business for a long time. Like I mentioned before, Best Buy used to be one of my favorite electronic stores to shop. However, I think whatever Exclusive Steelbook deal they made with the Movie Studios is going to hurt their business in the long run. The point you are 100% right on is the Best Buy Steelbooks are selling out too quickly. I think that if Best Buy advertises the Limited Steelbook in their weekly ad, then they should have enough copies made available to allow a person to buy one within the advertised week of sale. At the very least, they should allow a rain check and allow a customer to buy online or release a 2nd shipment of the product to accommodate a customer's request to buy one. I personally think this shortage issue devalues the whole collecting Steelbook concept that Best Buy seems to be the only store that has Exclusive rights to. I could understand if a Limited Steelbook selling out the 2nd week and beyond. However, I do not understand why they are not making more copies to accommodate more customers. There are only 3 Best Buy stores in my area and I went to all 3 stores on the first day of release. However, the steelbook was sold out at all 3 stores. It was also not available to buy online via bestbuy.com. The only option that a Best Buy employee said was to go to ebay.com. However, I am not interested in over paying for the item. I ended up buying the Standard Blu-ray release at another local electronics store. Since I could not get the product I wanted at Best Buy, I bought the movie elsewhere. I originally planned on always buying all new movie releases at Best Buy because of the Best Buy Exclusive Steelbooks. However, if it is going to be a hassle to buy a Best Buy Steelbook exclusive, I prefer to eliminate the hassle and buy elsewhere. Like I said before, I want to shop at Best Buy. The bad Best Buy Exclusive deals with the Movie Studios is turning good business away. I have been shopping at Best Buy for years and have purchased many limited editions before with zero problems. This is the 2nd time I have ran into the lack of availability for Steelbooks: Bumblebee [SteelBook] [Includes Digital Copy] [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray/Blu-ray] [Only at Best Buy] SKU:6323397. The first time was for Halloween [SteelBook] [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray/Blu-ray] [Only at Best Buy] SKU:6314996 I was just very surprised that there is no solution to this issue. What is the point of physically driving to a Best Buy store just to find out the product is already sold out. Best Buy had plenty of copies of the Standard release. However, I was interested in buying the Best Buy Exclusive Steelbook edition. I realize that a person can use bestbuy.com to identify if a store has copies. However, I have found the stock status data to be unreliable at times. I have seen times where bestbuy.com said the store did not have any copies left. However, when I physically checked the store, I found a couple of copies sitting on the shelf. However, for the Halloween and Bumblebee Steelbook, all I found when I visited each of the 3 local Best Buy stores was an empty shelf where the item is advertised for sale. Why even advertise the product for sale on the shelf was I am being told that Best Buy is not going to supply any more copies? When I asked multiple Best Buy employees to help explain the issue, the impression I got is that nobody cares about my Best Buy Steelbook questions. I cannot be the only one who has ran into this issue before. Whenever I troubleshoot a problem, I always want to find the source of the issue and apply a permanent solution. The best solution I can see is simply either buy the Target Exclusive that is more widely available or buy the Standard edition of the new movie release elsewhere. In my opinion, the whole process of making the Best Buy Exclusive Steelbooks Limited edition too limited is a huge mistake. I just feel that collecting should be a fun and enjoyable experience. Based on my experience, trying to buy a Limited Steelbook at Best Buy appears to be a waste of time and money. All I want to do is go to a particular store, buy the product I am looking for, then go home. Instead, what I did when I was trying to find the Best Buy Exclusive Steelbook was drive store to store to see if they had any copies left. After 3 trips to every local Best Buy in my area, I ran out of time and went home without the movie. I ended up buying the movie the next day and only visited another local electronics store. Years ago, Best Buy used to issue rain checks when they ran out of a product I wanted. However, I verified that Best Buy does not issue rain checks on Limited Best Buy Exclusive Steelbooks. And the end of the day, Best Buy can choose to run their business anyway they see fit. In the same regard, I have a choice where I buy new movies. Since buying new movie releases in the Steelbook format is too limited, then I choose to shop elsewhere. I love playing games but not when it comes to shopping for Electronics. I most likely will still shop at Best Buy from time to time. However, I am not able to value the Limited Steelbook in the same way I used to value them. To me, if the item is not available, then it appears it is not available and my options are to buy the Target Exclusive or buy the standard release that is available. I realize that I could buy the Standard release at Best Buy. However, if I am going to buy the standard release, I prefer to buy it elsewhere.

Hey there, GGKing,
Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us. I can understand why it would be frustrating to wait for a new Steelbook to release, only to learn it's out of stock. That is not the experience we set out to provide, so we greatly appreciate you letting us know how this impacted you so we can try to do better in the future.
While Bumblebee is currently out of stock, it's always a good idea to keep an eye on our website in case we get more in.
