Missing New Cardmember $100 Bonus

Best Buy phone and chat customer service keeps running me in circles. It seems people have better luck with customer service on the forum so here it goes.

I signed up for the best buy credit card during the time when a $100 reward with a $100+ purchase on top of the initial 10% reward was being offered. I made my first purchase, which was $2300 and then waited patiently for my rewards. After the 2 week wait, I only received the 10% reward and not the additional $100 reward as advertised. When looking at my rewards history it shows the new cardmember bonus line item and shows that I was awarded 0 points. I chatted and called customer service and got the same song and dance as others have gotten. Accounts need to be merged, issue sent to the back office, sent up the pipeline to higher ups etc... It's been a month since I should have received the award.

I recently saw someone mention on the forum that you had to activate the offer before making the purchase. Being new to best buy rewards and the credit card, I didn't realize you had to activate the offer to receive it because most credit card companies automatically apply new cardmember bonuses. But that obnoxious point aside, I just need the $100 reward added to my account. I'm sick and tired of dealing with customer service agents who just want to get you off the phone and not actually solve your problem.
