Why not give Military & Veterans discounts like you do for students?
Thanks

Re: Military discounts

[ Edited ]

Greetings thomasr1950-

Welcome back to the Best Buy forums!  It's true we do not have an official military discount currently in place, but not having a formal policy in place doesn't stop us from making sure our customers find the best deals out there to help them save some money.  We have promotions which last all week to some that only last for an hour so be sure to adjust your account settings to receive the most current and up to date sales!

Any discounts outside of policy would be left to the store's sole discretion.  I truly hope you are able to take advantage of one of the many sales we offer here soon and never hesitate to reach back out to us if you have any other question, comments, or concerns!

Kindly,

Re: Military discounts

AAFES is cheaper. I will shop them. It's not fair to single out Military. That is what you are doing. I shredded my BB CC. Closed my acct.

You mean like blocking the Gamer's Club Unlocked discount on Black Friday? Or giving people who don't spend THOUSANDS a year at Best Buy a HALF point per dollar spent and a measly 15 day return period?

Yep. Great deals.

How are they singling out military? They don't offer teacher's discounts, nor any first responder discounts? You're not singled out. And AAFES isn't always cheaper, but they're always a great option for tax free deals!

Totally agree. People want discounts just cuz they think they're part of a special group. Mind you I do admire our men and women in uniform for dedicating their lives to doing what they do, which many times includes putting their lives on the line for us.

But at the same time, the more groups you give special discounts to the more groups that will crop up wanting them. Before long you'll have all these groups getting discounts and everybody else complaining that they're not getting a discount. When does it end?

Re: Military discounts

Being a 100% Disabled American Veteran I think that puts me in a very special group. If you are in the whiney group that's your problem. I get discounts at Lowes and Home Depot and the worst thing I have heard in line while getting my discount is "thank you for your service". Thank you for your opinion, I fought and bled for your right to exercise it.

Re: Military discounts

Actually, you didn't "fight and bleed" for it.  We haven't had that type of war in...forever.  Furthermore, you are no more special than the other veteran expecting a discount.  The veterans in MY family don't go around with "veterans" hats, and t-shirts, etc., expecting people to genuflect in their presence.  They have a quiet dignity about themselves.
