Lied to by Best Buy Manager (Please correct this)

Hello Best Buy Support,

I would like to start this by saying thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope I can get a fast resolution to my issue.

A couple weeks ago Best Buy was holding a sale for this gaming computer which I had been watching for sometime and after waiting months for it to go on sale the day finally came however, on that same day I had a family emergency that required me to leave the United States for a funeral (My Uncle Passed away while he was vacationing in the United Kingdom) so we needed to go. I stopped into the store and spoke to a manager (on my way to the airport) and explained the situation to him and asked if he could give me a rain check on the sale as long as they still have it in stock and after about 15 minutes of talking to him he said "Of course I can do that and my condolences about your uncle" (My uncle use to work for best buy and they all knew him).

I left the store content and assured I would be able to get the Gaming computer so a couple weeks passed and I finally made it back home and shortly after arriving home (Today) I immediately went to the store that I had been promised the rain check eager to pick up the computer but when I arrived I asked for the manager (He was working) and he told me "I don't remember ever saying that" so I gave him a little reminder of the details we spoke about previously and he chuckled and walked away and I waited for him to comeback for about 10 minutes. Another employee came to the counter and told me the manager had taken his lunch break and they told me to return later (Which I did) and the conversation basically went the same.

This Computer was around $530.00 with the sale and it is currently priced at $779.99

All I am asking is to honor what was communicated to me and I am a bit upset of this because it's something I was waiting for so long to come on sale.

Re: Lied to by Best Buy Manager (Please correct this)

Hello and welcome, Cody,

I’m so sorry to hear of your uncle’s passing, especially considering he was a former Blue Shirt.  Despite the circumstances, I hope you and your family had a pleasant trip abroad.

While rainchecks are not something we offer at Best Buy, our store leadership is empowered to take care of customers in many ways, and we should be keeping our word whenever we make a promise.  I’m not able to promise a particular outcome, but I’d like to take a closer look at this situation and see what options we may have for you.  Please keep an eye out for a private message headed your way shortly, which you can view by selecting the orange envelope at the top of the page.

Sincerely,

Re: Lied to by Best Buy Manager (Please correct this)

This just threw me over the edge and how insanely angry I am right now because this whole issue was because I didn't initially get the sale I was promised but instead 3 days after I was forced to pay full price for the computer the sale does back up after!

Sales start and stop all the time, and with your vigilance you caught it again while it is on sale.  Just visit the store while the sale is active, and before your return period ends, they can perform a price match and refund the difference to you.

I am a Best Buy Employee, but the views that I post are my own and not that of Best Buy.
