What steps have been taken since August? When I called 1-888-BESTBUY, the woman was able to track the #, give me the receipt #, and the SKU# of the MacBook Pro purchased. My Daughter was scammed out of $500, which isn't enough to buy a MacBook Pro. So I'm left imagining the perpetrator entering several gift card numbers into the Best Buy system while the employee stood there thinking.... what?
The fact is, your company gift cards encourage this type of fraud. Best Buy is complicit and is aiding and abetting these activities. Why in the world would your store policy allow someone to enter a gift card number - or several of them without actually possessing the card? Why wouldn't they AT LEAST require some form of verifiable identification if the purchaser didn't have the actual card? After several frustrating hours talking to Best Buy in Salem, NH (where the purchase was made) and the 1-888 BESTBUY customer help(?) line, I am convinced that BestBuy has no reason to tighten their security, and they continue to allow the scam to work. Best Buy refuses to tighten security because, ultimately- they make a sale.

I need video footage for an incident that occurred on Monday April 5, 2021 at the Best Buy located at 6006 E Sam Houston Parkway North, in Houston, Harris County, Texas. A request was previously made by the original Patrol Officer and trying to see if it's available to be provided.
