Long story short, took my Jeep there today for backup camera installation. Got it done but was never told I had to pick it up by 5:00 or I couldn’t get it until the next day after 10:00am. Tried to call the store directly but can’t get through so spoke to someone at the call center who recommended I go to the store to speak to the manager on duty. I live 45 mins away but went anyway because I need my vehicle tonight. The mgr on duty, Angel over the Geek Squad, refused to give me my Jeep stating there is some policy that only a tech can remove a vehicle from the install bay (no one mentioned this on the phone either…). So, aside from doing something I’d likely regret in the long run, I’ve decided to play by Best Buy’s NON customer-focused rules and come back tomorrow (when it will likely be raining--no top on my Jeep) in hopes of finding someone with some common sense.
What’s the advantage of being a Total Tech member again?? I won’t make this mistake twice!!

I think they have a policy against that, too. IDK, he called me at 4:36 to inform me they close at 5:00. I am 45 minutes from the store... Immediatlely tried to call back and they had, evidently, shut down early for the day.

Good Evening, Sej1836.
Welcome to the Best Buy Forums.
Thanks for reaching out. I replied to your private message on Facebook. But for redundancy, I shall relay the message here as well. There is not a policy involving removing a vehicle from the install bay that states you need the installer. That way the customer to remove their vehicle themselves. This is in case they are handicapped or drive a manual and the auto tech in unaware of how to operate a manual vehicle. You will just need a manager to get into the install bay to that you can remove the vehicle.
Kind regards
