Joint Credit Account Charge-Off

Good afternoon-

In 2010 my then husband added my name to his Best Buy credit card application. We were divorced in 2017 and since then he has let the BB credit card charge-off with a $1300 balance.

According to Experian, he started becoming delinquent on payments in October of 2018 and the account charged-off in April 2019.

My problem is that I cannot believe that I was not notified of any delinquent payments, past due balances, or the charge-off. As a legally responsible joint account holder, Best Buy should have the policy to notify all parties on the account of delinquency or past due balances. It is so unfair that I now have a charge-off on my perfect credit; credit that I have worked for years and years on keeping pristine.

When I called the customer service number and balance collection number, they were no help at all and refused to let me speak to a supervisor. ALL banks in the U.S. notify joint account holders on the status of thier accounts, and this is not right or fair to report something to the credit bureau that I had no idea was past due.

If there is anyone in BB coporate that could please help me on the is matter, it would be appreciated!
