Is this email really from Best Buy or is it a scam?

I received an email today saying I had received a $25 gift card - not sure if it's legit.  It says it's from "My Best Buy Visa Card," the subject line is "My Best Buy Visa Card sent you a Best Buy® Gift Card"

and the body of the email says:

"My Best Buy Cardmember,
Lucky you! You've received a $25.00 Best Buy® e-Gift Card.
Click on the link below to view your e-gift card."

Re: Is this email really from Best Buy or is it a scam?

Welcome, bmp111,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our community forums. It's always a good idea to make sure an email is safe, especially when it sounds too good to be true. I'd be glad to give you some tips on how to avoid scams as well as check on this email.

We have some information regarding common scams here. You also have the ability to forward this email to our privacy team if you believe this email is not legitimate.

Can you provide some more details about this email? Who was it sent by? Is it asking for any information or requirements to access this gift card? Did you recently make any purchases that had a promotion offer? Any additional information would be much appreciated so I can continue to look into this for you.

[ Edited ]

The sender's email is corporategiftcards@giftcards.bestbuy.com

The reply to email is {removed per forum guidelines}

I can forward the email if you let me know how to do that.

And we did make a purchase recently using our best buy credit card, but I don't recall if there was a $25 gift card promotion associated with it.

I have not clicked on the link to see if it asks for any personal information.

Re: Is this email really from Best Buy or is it a scam?

God it, bmp111,

I appreciate you getting back to me. That does appear to be a valid Best Buy email address. If you'd like, I can review your My Best Buy account to see if you qualified for a promotion with this purchase.

I will need some additional details in order to do so. Can you please send me a private message that includes your:

Full name

Email address

Phone number

You can send me a private message by clicking the blue button at the bottom of this post. I'll keep an eye out for your message.

I received same email.  entered my email and printed a gift card.  Nothing further seemed questionable.
