How do I call a local store directly?  There's an item I'd like to purchase that I'd need the store to check local inventory, but whenever I call the store I get to the national support number.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

The BestBuy.com website lists if an item is available, the store staff would be unable to provide any additional information beyond that.

No, you cannot. The reason I provided the correct pathway to get “local inventory” was the store doesn’t have access to any information beyond what the website says. I didn’t just want to say no, I wanted to send you in the right direction to get the information you asked for.
