History of being overcharged for Oct 13 purchase of Sony 65 in OLED A8H plus 5 year extended warrant

[ Edited ]

I hope someone can assist me. I ordered a Sony 65 in OLED A8H television from Bestbuy.com on 13 Oct 2020. Best Buy was running a special on Oct 13 and 14 (the same time Amazon was running their Oct 13-14 sale.) The above-mentioned TV was on sale at bestbuy.com for $1799.99. I purchased the TV online, got an email from Best Buy confirming the purchase at 1799.99, and my credit card was charged for 1799.99. I picked 5 Nov 2020 for the delivery date. Subsequent to the purchase on 13 Oct, I decided to purchase the 5-year extended warranty. From this time to the present I have had numerous charges and credits associated with this purchase. I have made numerous calls to best buy regarding this issue. Basically, my original purchase price was changed (by "a computer") to reflect the price of the TV on 6 Nov. This charge was applied to my credit card. Then the price of the 5-year warranty began to get changed. Finally, on 16 Nov 2020, I talked with a gentleman in customer support who documented the entire process of my calls to resolve the overcharges. He sent this information to "the back office" to make the corrections both he and I agreed upon. A number of days later, my credit card was credited with the correct amount to reflect my purchase of the TV at 1799 plus tax plus 5-year extended warranty at 379.99 plus 31.35 tax. I was now pleased that the various issues had been resolved...Wrong!

On the past Friday, 5 Dec 2020, I receive an email from best buy stating that my extended warranty had been canceled on 4 Dec 2020 AT MY REQUEST!. I have not made any such request. I contacted (yet again) best buy geek squad customer support. Talked with two different customer support person, including a Ms. Rowena, badge number {removed per forum guidelines}. She looked at my files and said she would contact the "back office" yet again to reinstate my warranty. However, the phone line then went dead (she hung up on me?) so I received no final confirmation on what is being done (if anything.)

I have all the email documentation from best buy along with a detailed accounting of my conversations with best buy if you wish to receive them.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi, SmallTownUSA,

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Forums! It can be quite concerning to see a number of different charges for one order, especially when that pricing is not what it should be. I'm glad to hear that you've spoken with someone in order to get this resolved!

However, I am not happy to hear that your Geek Squad Protection has been cancelled against your wishes. Additionally, it doesn't sound like you've received the level of service that we aspire to, and I'm sorry to read that your phone calls were dropped, and follow up dates have been passed. I'd like to take a look into this and see what I can do to help.

To get started, please send us a private message with your full name, email, and phone number so I can review your information.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
