Gift card status?

Hello: I’ve been speaking with many folks at Best Buy via the phone, and not really getting anywhere. Hope you can help!

On 10/23, I returned a non-functional Apple Watch to my local Best Buy, and (because they didn’t have a model in-stock to swap out) received $529 in merchandise credit instead. Due to card limitations, this was given to me as one $500 card and one $29 card.

After driving to the next closest store to re-purchase a replacement Watch, I discovered the larger of the two cards was missing. I called in and spoke to someone at Best Buy to cancel out that card and have it re-issued. This occurred on 10/24/18.

As of today, I haven’t received the replacement card, and — more alarmingly — no one has been able to tel me the status! The last person I spoke with sent me to my local store, who had zero information except could see where my original card was frozen for “possible fraud” on 10/25/18.

I really need help locating the replacement card or figuring out next steps...$500 is a significant amount to me, and I’m really wanting to replace the Watch. Can anyone help?

Welcome to our community. Like you, I don't find $500 to be a small and inconsequential amount, so I wholly understand your concerns in ensuring the replacement gift card arrives to your hands. It was discouraging to hear you've had difficulties in getting information about your gift card and I regret the inconvenience you've already incurred.
