Gift card replacement

To whom it may concern,


I recently cancelled a video game preorder on and I used two gift cards. One of them was a physical gift card and the other was a e-gift card my wife gave me from Amazon. Apparently, I misplaced both gift cards. I called the customer care line and was told that a physical gift card would be mailed containing the full amount. The person I talked to said it would take 7-10 business days. It's been two weeks and I have not received the gift card. I called again and I was told that the replacement gift card was never re-issued. They are sending me a physical gift card, but I had to talk to someone else in response to getting another . That person couldn't help me. I got transferred to another department and that person couldn't help me. I got frustrated at this point. I was on the phone for an hour and transferred from one department to another with no resolution in sight. I was wondering it is possible if someone else could help me with this situation and provide me with a better resolution. Thank you for your time.

Generally they can't help you when the gift card was purchaced thru a 3rd party like amazon. Amazon would be the people to call. Probably will need to be the original purchaser.

I know if I were in your shoes I would want to get these replaced as quickly as possible. I appreciate you letting us know about the steps you've already taken so far and would be glad to see if I can be of any further assistance.


As nckhammond mentioned, we are only to replace the remaining balance on a lost or stolen gift card that was purchased from Best Buy. Was this physical gift card purchased from Best Buy? If so, we should be able to assist you in getting this replaced.


Regarding this e-gift card, I would recommend your wife reach out to Amazon directly for assistance in getting this gift card information again. I look forward to hearing back from you so I can look into this other gift card.
