I agree with the other posters on this site that it is a lousy practice to not let us pay our Best Buy VISAs with our Best Buy gift cards.
I am on a fixed income and had to buy a new appliance after my old one died for the third time. I thought the gift card would help me pay for the item. Not so. That makes me feel disappointed and angry.

Welcome back, VirgLS,
Thank you for taking the time to visit our community forums again. Having had appliances stop working in the past, I know that it has a major impact on daily life. I appreciate you taking the time to provide us your feedback about the My Best Buy credit card.
The My Best Buy credit card is issued and administered by our partner, Citibank. Because of this, Citibank is able to determine what forms of payment may be used to make payments. As you mentioned, we are unable to accept a Best Buy gift card when making a payment towards your balance.
We strive to make every purchase as smooth as possible and this information is vital so we can continue to improve in the future. Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can ever be of assistance!
Regards,

Keep in mind this is a standard wide practice across all stores not just Best Buy.
