So I called to change the credit card on file for my Geek Squad Renewals. As an Elite member I have many. I was just informed by the Geek Squad Billing Office the are no longer offering any renewals. You can only get a longer contract at the time of purchase.
Could someone please contact me or verify this information. If this is the case then you will be losing a 10 year Elite member. I shop at Best Buy because it brings me peace of mind if anything happens. I also know that I can renew Geek Squad protection plan on my major purchases. If I can no longer do that then I can to to a big box DYI store where I can.

Thank you for your response. I have also come to understand that Geek Squad plans are no longer renewable. That is one of the few things that set Best Buy apart from the others.
I will shopping else where with my money.
I feel that Best Buy is doing a disservice to the public by not coming out and telling people that their plans will not be renewed. How many thousands of customers have theses plans are anticipating a renewal that they will never get.
An email should be sent to customers that currently have renewals, such as myself.
