well here goes---
I purchased over 1000 dollars worth of best buy gift cards strictly for the purchase of 2 new ps5 consoles for me and my son. Then covid hit. One of the largest electronic retailers all of a sudden couldnt figure out how to sell playstations to people rather than scalpers. Or they didnt care. In the meantime, people like me who prepared for this purchase a year in advance are still waiting and hoping. I would like to know how to get my money back for the gift cards I purchased without having to sell them online and take a loss. I might add that multiple trips to a store and multple calls to customer service have netted me nothing but a waste of time , people saying they will call me back and never do, one of those trips to the store I was told by a manager that I can return my gift cards only to be told on the phone that i cant?
I could have purchased gift cards to any retailer, (amazon, ebay, target etc) but I have been loyal to best buy for years. something has changed with best buy it seems. i actually had a customer service rep/agent repeatedly ask me why i wanted to talk to a manager? and refused to send me to one. I couldnt believe it.
once again. I just want my money freed up so i can go elsewhere and purchase a ps5 please and thank you.

Hello, JHARD6726, and welcome to our online community!
Thank you for posting on our forum for support. I hate to hear you weren't able to get ahold of a PS5, as I'm sure you and your son were really looking forward to getting consoles. I can understand wanting to look into what options are available with the gift cards you're now left with, and I'm sorry you haven't been given a clear answer on our policy surrounding these. I'm happy to shed light on this now.
Our Return and Exchange Policy outlines final sale and nonreturnable items, in which gift cards/prepaid cards are included. I understand this may not be the news you were searching for, and I'd like the chance to document your interaction in our corporate system. In addition, I'd like to share that these gift cards do not have an expiration date, so I'm hoping you can end up using yours over time on future purchases.
To start, please send me a private message including your full name, email, and phone number. You can find the blue option to message me to the right of my name below.
All the best,
