Re: Fraud on my mastercard

Right, 1-888-BestBuy looks to be available although there will be a wait. It should be the sole method of reaching out for this issue as I stated before. This forum, Facebook, and Twitter are handled by the same team and as I stated the chance of a reply in a prompt manner will not happen. The chat will also likely be a dead end once you reach someone as well. There are only so many employees available for the chat and unfortunately with the stores not open for walk in business the capacity maxes out. It’s also not a good avenue for this kind of support.

Re: Fraud on my mastercard

The number is useless..... it's not possible that we have to stay connected for 2 hours from Dubai to USA to report this.

The problem is that no-one cares... I wanted to stop the transaction even on bestbuy.com and report to the police the fraud, but at this point I will have my money back since it's a fraud and bestbuy will have lost the money AND the item or whatever was bought for these 3000 USD.

Well done guys!!!!

Re: Fraud on my mastercard

It’s not a question of nobody caring, it’s a prevalent and nonstop issue with online ordering everywhere in the world. There is no easy answer, criminals are always 1 step ahead of any new security measures the card companies put in place. As long as the retailer follows the merchant agreements, which Best Buy requires all of your card info to place order (full name, billing address, card number, security code, expiration date), this will be absorbed by the card company and their fraud protection insurance. They do not penalize the businesses who follow the online payment processing terms as laid out in the card’s merchant agreement.

I’m sorry someone stole your credit card information and I’m sorry you’re having issues with the customer service phone number.

Re: Fraud on my mastercard

If BestBuy doesn't provide the right instruments to help and support the reporting of these frauds they will be 10 steps ahead, not 1.

I was able to get the fraud department e-mail from an internal connection. By looking that e-mail address on the entire internet it appears only one time in a document from 2017 that is no even coming from best buy web site!!!!!

This is unacceptable!!!

Re: Fraud on my mastercard

Hopefully that email is still in use, it’s not the official process but maybe someone can help you there. Have a nice day.
