Delayed Order - Poor Customer Service - Maytag 36" Gas Stovetop

I placed an order on 5/31/2019 for a 36" Gas Stovetop. I was originally told that I would be able to pick up my order or June 28th at my local store.

 

Order number : {removed per forum guidelines}

 

I then recieved an e-mail on June 28th that my order was Delayed. There was a message in the notice that said if you were not able to fulfill my order by July 28th, you would cancel my order.

 

I purchased the item from Best Buy as it was a similar price to Home Depot, but you offered a $100 gift card to purchase it from you.

 

Now I feel like I have been baited to buy from you on an item that you do not even have or apparently have access to.

 

I called Best Buy customer relations and they were almost no help. They could not give me any additional information. I asked if they could reach out to their supplier to find out the status of shipment and to be notified of when I might expect my item. They were not helpful and said that they could only provide information in the system and not actually do anything to rectify the situation. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!!! This is not good customer service!

 

I just want the item that I purchased from you as soon as possible as agreed to based on the purchase I made on your website.

It's exciting to get new appliances for your home, especially something as essential as a cooktop. It sounds like you received a great price and special offer with your purchase, and I can understand wanting to make sure everything is processing as expected. I apologize for any unexpected delays with your order. We typically work to fulfill orders as quickly as possible. Any items that are currently on order or are backordered would be reserved for any already existing orders, prior to making them available to walk-in customers. We'll send you an email as soon as your order is ready. If, for some reason, we are ultimately unable to fulfill your order, it may be cancelled.

 

I'm not sure if you are upgrading your current cooktop, or if you are trying to replace one that is not working. If you no longer want to wait and would like to place an order for a different item, I can assist with looking into the order and seeing if it can be cancelled. This reply is equally frustrating.

 

What you are basically saying, is that "Sorry for entrusting us with your order as so many other customers have. We are in the habit of taking orders and not fulfilling them and then generously offering to cancel them after we have wasted your time.

 

No. I do NOT want to cancel my order. I WANT someone in your organization to actually CARE for your customers and actually pick up the phone to your supplier to find out when the cooktop will be available, not simply take my order, disappoint me and then cancel the order.

We may be unable to further impact the speed in which your order becomes available. While I can understand wanting to know a specific date to help cement your plans for pickup and installation, due to the nature of how this type of product is manufactured, distributed, and transported, we may be unable to provide you with a narrower time estimate for when the order may become available.

Then please escalate this issue to someone at Best Buy that can contact the manufacturer to tell me what is going on.

Yet another disappointing reply.

 

You have my order, so you have my name, phone number, address and e-mail.

 

Please escalate my issue to the buyer responsible for appliances and let me know their response.

Why is it that you seem more interested in having me move this discussion to "Private Chat" than you are about actually taking care of my issue and contacting the manufacturer to find out when you should receive my order?

 

Again, I entrusted my order to Best Buy. I expect someone at Best Buy who actually cares about CUSTOMER SERVICE to take the steps necessary to follow up with the vendor/suppier/manufacturer that they utilize for the merchandise and find out what is going on with my order, PLEASE.
