I wasn't sure where to report this, hopefully here. I contacted customer service through chat just a short while ago to try and figure out what was going on with one of my items ordered and if it was delayed or whatever.
After being disconnected from one rep and then talking to the next rep for a few minutes, he both asked for my phone number (not sure if this is normal, but fine), and then proceeded to tell me to call a number not associated with Best Buy at all. A quick google search brings it up as a scam phone number. I couldn't believe it. It's absolutely awful that you've got people working chat that would do that. If I had been someone more vulnerable and fallen for it, it could be much worse.
These chat reps don't have access to payment information do they?
