Credit Card Application

My husband and I both tried applying for the BB credit card online today a different times for individual cards. We both received a message that we will be informed within 2 weeks of the decision. We applied because the link said apply now shop today. We need to purchase an oven right away and we're planning on taking advantage of the 18 months no finance charge. Is there any way to speed up the process if we go into the store? If not we will have to make our purchase elsewhere as we cannot wait for more than a day or two.

Re: Credit Card Application

The apply and shop today relies on instant approval, which is very commonplace today.  If not immediately approved, that means it requires an employee at Citibank review the data.  There are a number of reasons this could have happened such as incorrect or incomplete data.  Typos are a common reason.  Visiting the store will not speed up the process, as the decision is solely made by the creditor, Citibank, in these cases.  You can try reaching out to them directly at 1-888-574-1301, they should be able to provide additional information hearing back on your approval.
