Can someone please confirm for me that Best Buy uses Capital Management Services for collections? I received a collection letter from them indicating that it was for my now closed Best Buy account. I did a search for that collection agency and saw nothing but negative comments on them and that they were a scam company (especially on the consumer affairs website).
I have a DMP now and they sent one payment directly to the mailing address for Best Buy's credit card payments. But now we changed the name and account number and I'm concerned that I may be getting scammed by Capital Management Services.

Best Buy does not use Capital Management Services for collections. If this if for a My Best Buy credit card, however, the collection would be coming from Citibank N.A. rather than from us, as they are the issuer of those credit cards.
I'd suggest giving them a call at (888) 574-1301 to discuss this, if it is related to that credit card. They'd be able to let you know if that's a company they use for collections.
