Who at corporate made the ridiculous decision to make it so we cannot call local stores??? This is RIDICULOUS. Noone wants to call and talk to some person off in some other state who knows NOTHING about what you need to know, click through a million prompts to get to someone, etc. Even just to see if something is PHYSICALLY there! And do not tell me that your bestbuy.com people can tell you (seen you repeat that on here a bunch of times). I have tried 3 times now to see if an item was in stock. Was told it was. Drove to store. NOPE. Drove to ANOTHER store that I was told specifically did NOT have the item...even in the store, they showed zero...but we found FOUR of the tvs!
Now, I just went through a whole situation at one of your stores, dealt with a guy I have a rapport with, etc...now I cannot call him?? I tried and was told that you cannot do that, cannot even TRANSFER me to the store!! What is wrong with you that you cannot even transfer us?? The person on the phone said, sure, I will help you...so I asked...and immediately she said, yeah, you are right, you need to talk to the store! Ridiculous waste of time. I have to drive an HOUR EACH WAY to get to this 'local' store! For something that could be quickly answered on the phone.
WHY would you do this? Just to force us to go to your stores...in times of covid? Are you serious? Will be closing my Best Buy card accounts and no longer buying from Best Buy at all. Walmart, Target, Costco, BJs, and even Amazon are easier to contact and deal with than what you have done here. Will be ending my corporate relationship with you as well, and others will get our business.
Abosolutely horrible.

Due to possible staffing issues local store calls are no longer permissible. You are better off checking the inventory online to see if an item is in stock or not.

Hi, buyinstuff2245,
Thanks for creating a profile here on the Best Buy Forums. Welcome to this community!
I can certainly see where you are coming from, as I often try to check stock numbers at my local store when making a purchase as well. I can see how being unable to get in touch with your local store via phone can make that a bit tricky after the online numbers were a bit off. We appreciate your feedback on the matter!
If there is anything we might be able to help with, please send me a private message.
Regards,

This is not correct.
I had a question that the call hub was not able to answer so I demanded to speak to the store and they transferred me. I first asked why I can't just call into the store. They said "They get way too many calls to handle" and when I reached the store, they said "Wow, we rarely get calls... maybe 2 a day".
Just be vigilant.

Sorry but your statement is overridden by the consensus of the previous statements of customers calling the store and getting routed to the national call center.

I don't know what you mean by "overridden" but what I said is correct. If you demand to speak to someone at the store, you will eventually be transferred. Now, that's not to say someone will pick up any time you call. Half the time, I get sent to voicemail but someone returns my call.

soo, by "some other state", you mean "off shore"? it's bad enough not getting the local store. it's even worse getting someone you can't understand, with their roosters swuawking in the background...
