Thanks for reaching out on the Best Buy forum! That’s a great question, and one that a lot of people may ask, especially over the holiday season. I would be happy to try to clarify things.
That being said, our community seems to have gotten to you already to answer this question. Geishafish is correct in saying that there are some exceptions to what you can use a gift card to buy. Open loop gift cards, like Visa and MasterCard prepaid gift cards, aren’t something that you can purchase with a Best Buy gift card. Something else of note, is that there is a system limitation on BestBuy.com where you cannot purchase a Best Buy gift card with a Best Buy gift card.
To see the full Terms and Conditions for Best Buy gift cards as well as other frequently asked questions, you can take a look at the link here. If there is anything else I can do to assist, please let me know. I would be happy to do whatever I can to assist.

Well, this is all fine and dandy, but if you have any gift card *at all* in your online cart, the option to use a Best Buy gift card toward your purchase disappears.

oh...the plot thickens...
Just got off the phone with Best Buy customer service.
According to the guy I talked to, you cannot buy other gift cards with Best Buy gift cards. So...there ya go.
