Bestbuy customer service... Thought I was talking to a Comcast customer service...Wow

So I called  to get a price match on a item I bought 29 days ago from Bestbuy, they have $50 cheaper today. She tells me I have to be a Elite member and not just a rewards member to get the price match. So I asked what it takes to be a Elite member, she says at least $2500 spent in the past. I say fine because I have spent 1000s of dollars there and I should be Elite. She saysI will patch you thru and then I get some store Rep that has no Idea what I am talking about. Bestcast or Combuy I think we are done.

I'm sorry if there was any misunderstanding during your interaction with the representatives in store or on the phone.   Our price matching policy follows the Return / Exchange Promise to determine the time fram you have.  15 days for most people, 30 days for Best Buy Elite Members, and 45 days for Elite Plus Members.  To reach Elite, the amount is $1500 and Elite Plus is $3500 within a calendar year.

I would like to take a moment to welcome you to the Best Buy forum community. We have some great members who are very knowledgeable and try to help out whenever possible. With this in mind, I’m so glad to see that @jdogg836 was able to touch base with you to provide insight into qualifications for price matching and the different My Best Buy rewards statuses.

 

I hope that @jdogg836’s reply was able to assist you in better understanding the Price Match Guarantee as it can be a wonderful program to take advantage of to ensure you’re getting the best deal. As already mentioned, the period of time where a customer is able to qualify for a price match after purchase is based on the Return & Exchange window dictated by an individual’s My Best Buy status. It’s greatly disappointing that this was not made clear when you originally contacted us so I appreciate you reaching out for clarity.

 

All this being said, in your original post you mentioned that you believe you should qualify to be an Elite My Best Buy member. I will be happy to take a look at your account to check your rewards status and purchase history.
