I received the BestBuy email with the activation code for 6-month free subscription to Apple Music.
Although I have an Apple ID, I have nver used any previous Apple Music suvscription (which is a requirement for this promotion).
I followed the instructions in the email, as follows:

Because I carefully followed those instructions, I clicked the link and entered the provided activation code - and recieved only 3 months. I called Best Buy and was transferred to a friendly rep in the Digital department, who explained that I FIRST needed to register for 3 free months from Apple AND THEN enter the activation code from Best Buy to EXTEND the initial 3 months from Apple.
My complaint to Best Buy is with their incomplete instructions, disappointing me of 3 months - essentailly, there is no such thing as 6 months - nor even 3 months - because once the code is activated, I am unable to use any other promotional code.
Unfortunaltey, this is very misleading promotion that can be EASILY remedied with *clearer* instructions.
