Another poor customer experience

This is sadly becoming the normal experience lately...

 

I purchased a Kurieg Coffee maker in May, about three weeks later I received an email advising that a purchase I made from the Mother's Day gift list qualified me for a $10 savings code with a bar code, pin code, and expiration date of 6/15/19. 

 

I attempted to utilize this code last night online towards an xbox one controller which was on sale for $41.99. The code didn't work, I called the number on the coupon and explained the situation and they advised that I had to visit the store in order to resolve the matter because they could not assist.

 

I requested to escalate the matter and the lead offered to mail me a $10 physical gift card but it would take 7-10 days to receive it and instructed me to just purchase the controller the next day to avoid missing the sale. 

 

I visited the store today and the sale is no longer available and one of the department managers who verified the coupon was legitimate but couldn't explain why it wasn't working and they couldn't find it. He called the corporate number and they verified it did not have any restrictions or limitations being used against an item on sale. Finally, he advised that they couldn't do anything and to call 1-800-BEST-BUY. I'm frustrated at this point that I've spent over an hour having to deal with this. It's ridiculous that you email a customer a discount code and it doesn't work and no one can figure out what is going on. 

 

If any Best Buy employee reads this, I would like to confirm that I am actually receiving this $10 gift card and please price match the controller to the price that it was listed as on 6/10/19 when I attempted to purchase it online and began running into this nightmare.
