An employee told me I was trying to break the law...

So I'm just still confused by this. On Monday I went in store to pick up an online purchase I had made and at the same time trade in some games. The employee told me i was trying to break the law and that it was illegal to trade in games. I'm assuming this isn't the case right?

It's not illegal. However some states have "pawn shop laws" where certain states don't allow this activity except in certain licensed storefronts.

Otherwise you can trade in games to your hearts content.
