Short version - Bought Wall Oven Online Order(Removed per guidlines) on 2/20/21 with three $500 gift cards purchased from local grocery store to also help with Gas Points. Order was cancelled on 7/8/21 becasue of supply line issues. Supposedly ,omey was put back on gift cards that were long thrown out. Who keeps used gift cards for 4 months after the purchase, right? Many calls and promises of receiving new gift cards for the full $1500 refund since.
What Best Buy should do - Either deliver the wall oven which is now available to my local store like I wanted in the first place OR $1500 check sent to my house. Original purcahse with tax included was $1509.19. It was on sale for $1400 something at the time I purchased it.
In one of my many calls the person said they could not sell the oven, that they cancelled, to me at the sme prive becuase it was more expensive now. Unbelievable. The absolute worst customer experience I've ever had in my 50 years on this Earth. Hoping this being in blak and white, there will be some acccountability. Here are the details of my more than year long fight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2/20/21 - Purcahsed Frigidaire - 24" Built-In Single Gas Wall Oven - Stainless steel Model:FFGW2426US SKU:6262657 with three $500 gift cards. Paid the remaining $5.19 balance with Paypal account. Total coming to $1509.19
7/8/21 - After multiple emails about Order is Not Ready yet, Best Buy Cancels the order and refunds the $5.19 to my Paypal account and refunds the money to long since dicarded gift cards.
Multiple monthly calls to Customer service with promises of new gift card refund coming.
3/9/22 - Called Best Buy Customer support again. The person found there was a refund to one of the old cards still in the system. By giving my permission to cancel that refund to that old card, then the $1500 refund in a gift card could be processed. Well it’s been 18 days and still no refund. It’s actually been over 8 months that I’ve been out $1500 to buy another oven. And 13 months since this whole nightmare has started
3/28/22 Chatted with support and was told to call Gift card dept. You can chek the chat details.

Called Gift card people again. After getting passed around to 5 different people. A new case ID of (Removed per guidlines) was created. I should be getting an email confirming the request within 24 hours. If not call back with new ID number.
I have not called back again because I am gettin nothing but the runaround, no accountability, satisfaction or my wall oven or my money back.

Hello, and congratulations on joining the Best Buy forum!
I can understand how frustrating it can be to deal with waiting for a refund. I understand that you feel you have been getting run around with your three gift cards. Looking at your situation it seems that because these cards were purchased outside of Best Buy you would have to work with the grocery store you purchased them through to get them re issued. I would be happy to talk more with you about the situation if you would like you can send me a direct message with your full name, phone number, and email address.

Been that route. Dealt with Giant Eagle corporate as well. Once they sell the cards they are out of their system. They are Best buy cards. Your cards. Giant Eagle didn't make the cards. Best Buy controls the cards. Talking has done nothing. I want things in black and white either here or in email.

And once they were used. Giant Eagle is done with the transaction. They were used to purchase a Wall oven 14 months ago. It is Best Buy that needs to refund my money. Not Giant Eagle. If these cards werre lost, GIant Eagle would be able to nullify the cards and re-issue. They were used and processed for the purchase in February 2021. Best Buy owes me the Wall Oven I purchased or $1500. period.

Hello
Gift cards purchased at a third party (e.g., grocery store, gas station, credit card reward program) generally cannot be reissued by Best Buy. Regardless of who made the cards they were sold through a third party. While you did use them to purchase your wall oven, when your order was cancelled your three Gift Cards were refunded back to their original card numbers, the ones purchased through a third party. I understand your frustration and I would be upset too if I was in your position but no Giant Eagle is not quite done with the transaction and should be able to assist in cancelling your existing cards and reissue them for you. If they are adamant, they cannot do this and you still possess the original receipt for the Gift Card Purchase there may be other methods that we can explore. Again, I would be happy to talk more with you about the situation if you would like you to send me a direct message with your full name, phone number, and email address.

So you're trying to tell me, Best Buy can put money back on third party sold Best Buy gift cards but cannot cancel or reissue them?

Per the Gift Card guidelines, cards are treated as cash. And if it was at a third party retailer they would be the contact for replacement.
